Rules & Policies

What is required for the rental?
  • You must be 25 with a valid driver’s license to RENT the equipment. You must be 18 to drive the equipment.
  • You must have a valid credit card for deposit. The credit card is for incidentals or damages. A security deposit is required to rent any and all equipment. For Snowmobiles the charge is $1000 per unit plus tow vehicles. (example 3 snowmobiles and a tow vehicle would require a $4000 deposit.)
  • For UTVs the charge is $1500 – $3000 per unit. ( example 2 UTVS would require a deposit of $3000 – $6000 depending on level on protection chosen before checkout.)
What is included in the rental?

All rentals include:

  • The selected equipment (Snowmobile or SxS)
  • 4×4 Truck and trailer for transporting the equipment to the trail of your choice
  • Full tank of gas (please, return all vehicles full of fuel or a refueling charge will apply)
  • Helmets  for everyone in the party
  • Safety videos, in-depth tutorials by staff
Do you require a deposit?

Yes, we require a $1,000 deposit per snowmobile. $1500 – $3000 per UTV (depending on level on protection chosen before checkout) upon your arrival per unit rented plus tow vehicle. SCPR has up to 7 to 10 business days from the time your rental is returned to inspect the vehicle for any damage. You will receive an itemized invoice with any applicable fuel or damage charges. This deposit will be refunded when the vehicles are returned with no damage.

Do you offer rental coverage for the vehicles?

Yes, You, the customer are covered by Adventure Assure Protection through Polaris. For free, you as the customer have full coverage protection where your Max out of pocket deductible would be $3000 per UTV. We also offer an upgraded protection for $60 that takes your max out of pocket deductible to $1560 per side by side. $1000 per snowmobile. You are responsible for paying the deductible. Vehicle damages will be inspected, within 72 hours. But, we reserve the right to inspect the vehicle 7 to 10 business days as per our damage disclosure. We charge for parts and labor based on our local powersports dealership guidelines.

What time do I pick up and drop off my rental?

We recommend everyone show up 15-30 minutes prior to your rental time to fill out paperwork, get fitted for a helmet, as well as an instructional tutorial.

Half-Day Rentals: Morning/AM Rentals 8:00 am – 12:00 pm OR  Afternoon/PM Rentals 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Full-Day Rentals: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Where can I ride?

We have several off-road trails within reasonable driving distance. Check out local off-road trails page for descriptions and map locations. Please do not drive on public roads with our machines.

What should I bring?

 

Please bring layered clothing during the summer and fall as the weather is cooler as you drive towards the tops of trails.

We also recommend:

  • goggles
  • close-toed shoes
  • water
  • snacks
  • sunglasses
  • camera/video camera
  • rain jacket
  • toilet paper 😉
  • bug repellent

During the winter, in addition to the above list, wear winter clothing like you are going skiing or snowboarding, and make sure to bring your own snow goggles.

What auto insurance is required?

Full coverage Auto Insurance is required to drive all tow vehicles.

In the event of an accident, drivers will file a reported claim with their auto insurance company. 

 

Is there cell phone service/coverage on the trails?

Yes, but there are several sections of trails that have spotty coverage.

Walkie talkies are great if you are renting multiple units with friends.

What are the trails like?

 The trails are beautiful! You will ride through a variety of dirt and rocky trails, forests, and open roads with breathtaking views. During the winter, snow conditions will dictate level of powder or snow-packed trails.

There are not always bathrooms at the trailheads or along the trails, so prepare accordingly, have toilet paper

Trails are pack-in, pack-out, so bring all trash home with you, if any. Bring out more than what you bring in

Any rules or guidelines while riding?
  • You must stay on marked trails and follow all trail rules at all times.
  • All drivers/operators must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license and signed waiver.
  • All drivers/riders must wear helmets and goggles at all times.
  • Speeding is the leading cause of damage and or injury. Top speed limit of 30 mph on county and dirt roads. Top speed on trails is 35 mph and posted speed limit on all paved roads.
What if we get stuck? Is there a recovery fee?

In the case of an emergency, dial 911. SCPR is a rental company, we do not do recovery for any reason. You will have to contact a local recovery company if you cannot recover the vehicle yourselves.

What is your refund policy?

Cancellations must be made at least 14 days prior to rental date to be eligible for a full credit towards a future rental, good for up to 1 year of your original reservation date.

What is your weather policy?

The weather in Summit County can change drastically by the hour, from 70 degrees and sunny to 40 degrees and raining in the summer, and unexpected snowstorms in the winter. It is the customers responsibility to check the weather 24 or 72 hours before arrival. Make sure you bring appropriate clothing. There will be no refunds due to weather conditions unless the National Forest notifies us that we need to cancel all the reservations because of lightning. Unfortunately, we have no control over the weather.

Is there a speed limit on the trails?
Yes all trails have a set speed limit of 30MPH. If law enforcement catches you going over the speed limit, fines from $500-$1000 may be incurred.
Are there fees for late returns?

If SXS/Snowmobiles is not returned within 30 minutes of your return time, a $100 late fee will be assessed for every 30 minutes it is late. *Prices subject to change without notice.

Where is the nearest RV Park?

We recommend Red Mountain RV Park and Recreation. Please visit redmtnrvpark.com.

Destination Parking?

Please note; that the parking lots at the trail heads can be very busy. Especially at Peak Times and Holidays. We have no control over waiting times. Please factor this into your scheduled arrival and return time.

USFS charges Vail Pass?

The USFS charges $10 per person for the day use on USFS land for parking and trail grooming. If you are a military veteran or have a yearly pass, please notify the USFS rangers at the time of arrival.
